Hidden Treasures of Napa Valley
1. Culinary Arts Museum
Inside the Copia building right next to Oxbow on the second floor is Chuck Williams, culinary arts museum. I checked this place out quite a bit, and there’s only been one other time when there have been other people in there. It’s really cool. Look at that view. Just. It’s really cool. Once you get inside, there’s all sorts of things for cooking and molds and stuff for cakes and ovens and tea, pots and wine stuff.
So it’s really a different kind of place. And. I really enjoy visiting this little hidden spot.
2. Regussi Winery
This is really a cool place. Notice all that produce. It’s a great place to taste. I definitely recommend doing a wine tasting here. They have wonderful wines. There’s the tasting room, but what’s really cool and unique about this place? And most people never notice it is. If you look closely, you’ll actually find some graffiti from the 1800’s, 1884.
Wow. Now I’m not sure who did that – RMC. It says I’m thinking one of the Regussi brothers they’re known for drag racing out there on Silverado trail out in front of the wine cellar. This is the wine cellar that we’re looking at. Beautiful building. Really cool to see that graffiti.
3. The Fink
I love the old album covers here in the hallway of the old Silo’s. Those totally cool. Soon to be the nightclub “The Fink.”
4. Enjoy Napa Valley
We’re on a little adventure today.
5. Napa Bookmine
It has two locations. This one here is at the Oxbow. Love star wars, great place. Great people have a ton of books and they also have a location at Pearl street. Definitely check them out.
6. Linda Falls
don’t know if I could call this a secret spot anymore. When I started coming here, it was actually private property. So nobody is there for hours – if at all, but now they put it on all trails. People are discovering it. When I was there for the last recording, there were three other people. There were three other groups I should say.
It’s still an awesome place that is beautiful. It’s gorgeous. I think it belongs in the secret Spots.
7. Napa River Ecological Reserve
What we locals call it is Yountville Crossroads because it’s on Yountville Crossroad, follow this main trail to get to the swimming hole you’re going to want to follow this all the way to the end, to the north here. And you’ll come out to an area. Right now it’s winter, so you won’t see it so much, but there’s a beach-like area on the other side of the river, from the trail and anything from the north of this, to the left, is going to be deep enough to swim in.
And also there are usually several rope swings. I’ve been coming to this place since I was a kid. It’s a great place to take the kids in spring to hunt. Pollywogs, tadpoles. So you’re looking for this area at the end where there’s this tree, and this is a good area, actually for small children to wade in. But like I said, everything from the north of this is deep enough to swim.
8. Buttercream Bakery
Since 1948. This 50-style diner is literally pink and white striped and it’s been here, as you can imagine, as long as I can remember. The maple bar with bacon. Oh my gosh. There are so many good things. This is a great breakfast place. You’re not going to get some fancy goat cheese breakfast.
The pastries and the donuts are amazing. It’s that old 50’s style American bakery
This champagne cake. I get the champagne cake for my birthday every year. This is the best champagne came ever. Everybody would agree. Awesome.
9. Napa Valley Trail Rides
We are going to go horseback riding. Totally beautiful location. There are views of Mount George and their wine is excellent. Definitely, a very fun and cool and different thing to do here in Napa Valley. On Silverado trail, near the city of Napa, you can get fresh strawberries and these strawberries are amazing.
10. The French Laundry
The French Laundry has been voted the best restaurant in the world on multiple occasions. I remember the first time I visited the gardens, it was actually around the corner from here and it was in a backyard. Now they put it right across the street from the French Laundry. We can enjoy it, the general public, and don’t have to have a private tour. It’s beautiful. There’s a reason why they’re one of the best in the world. They use the freshest ingredients.
11. Van De Leur Park
Van De Leur Park is almost directly across the street from the French Laundry Gardens. Some really cool art here, dedications to firefighters, and the Native Americans. It’s a hidden gem. You don’t want anybody to know about it.
12. Yountville Crossroads
Napa River Ecological Reserve. What we locals call it is Yountville crossroads because it’s on Yountville crossroads, follow this main trail to get to the swimming hole. What you’re gonna wanna do is follow this all the way to the end to the north here, and you’ll come out to an area. Right now it’s winter. 13. Lobster Corndogs At The Archer Hotel At Sky & Vine
This is the Archer hotel. And hopefully tonight they’ll actually have lobster corn dogs. We’ve come for something secret. A lot of times it’s not on the menu at all the lobster corn dogs are also here at the Archer. They have whiskey that’s made here in Napa Valley. And if I zoom in here, you see actually Stag Leap, Stags Leap
the reason that mountain got its name and that district the legend is that a hunter was chasing a stag, the stag leaped off one of those cliffs to its own peril. The lobster corn dogs here at the Archer. It’s on the rooftop bar. These are the bomb, come and check them out. Totally the bomb.
14. Napa Valley Distillery
What’s your name? My name’s Justin. I’m from Enjoy Napa Valley. I’m looking for the speakeasy, the juice joint. I’m at the Tiki room at Napa Valley Distillery. There’s a Tiki bar. Very cool. Very cool people, and a good place. The first distillery in the Napa Valley, since prohibition they make their own hooch from the old-fashioned still.
15. Napa County Historic Society
With elegance bestrewn with the grace of an ungoverned stallion. I visit Napa county’s historical society located in the Goodman library on the first street, Napa exhibits shilly-shally on a fortuitous basis today, the topic is wine.
Their fabulous gift shop is the envy of the valley. Here you can procure offerings beyond the extraordinary.
16. Ceasar Chaves & Dolores Fuentes
On the main street in Napa, there is a statute of Cesar Chavez and Dolores Fuentes. They did a lot of work here and a lot of people don’t realize that Dolores lived in Napa.
17. Redwoods Bothe State Park
Honestly, whenever I have people visiting from around the world, other parts of the country, or whatever, I always recommend that they visit the redwoods. Here in the Napa Valley.
We have the farthest east stand of redwoods in the world. Take the Redwood trail. It’s gorgeous. They’re so majestic. You won’t be disappointed.
18. Reynolds Family Winery
Hey Baby, let me tell you a story. When I was young and learning about Love and wine I met two seductive Pinot Noirs at the Reynolds family. Everything about them was identical. They were raised the same. They had the same sexy vintage.
But one was grown in the Russian River Valley the other in Carneros. It opened my eyes, they were as different as night and day. And I fell in love that day.
19. Thomas Keller Fried Chicken Adendum
Today, we’re at Adendum and it’s right behind ad hoc in Yountville. The famous Thomas Keller. And what they have here is the best-fried chicken in Napa Valley. You can get it to go. There is this beautiful picnic area out here to check out and enjoy right behind ad hoc and you order online. It is absolutely delicious.
